Kevin Sargent was born in Fulham, London in 1964 and has been adapting to survive ever since. He joined Thrashing Doves as drummer-percussionist during his final year at the University of Kent at Canterbury, where he had been studying classical piano, composition and theatre. After a brief spell as a video production manager on pop promos (Ronnie Wood/Clannad/Prefab Sprout), he moved quickly into music for media; the dark romantic comedy Crush for FilmFour, many commercials and television series including The Hour, Ballet Shoes and The Wrong Mans for the BBC. In 2006 he was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for A Waste of Shame, and in 2012 a BAFTA for his music for The Hour. He has performed the Malcolm Arnold double piano concertos with the Ulster Orchestra for Naxos Records (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/arnold-concerto-for-2-pianos/id265884529) and spent several years performing with The Hurricane Club improvised comedy group in London’s West End.
